After the super launch of Moto G and its success, a lot of smart phone enthusiasts were waiting for the launch of Moto G sequel. Similar to the way Google released Nexus 5 as a successor to Nexus 4 and reached everyone’s expectation of hardware upgrade in all the terms, there are expectations on Motorola too about its next launch in Moto G series. There were rumors that the new version of Moto G would be of 4.7″ screen. Some even spread a rumor that, the new version of Moto G would be Nexus’s next launch. Breaking all the rumors, recently the 2nd Generation Moto G (or may be Moto G2) has paid a visit to GFX benchmarks. In the GFX website we could get an overview of some physical and internal features.
According to the information on GFX website, the next gen Moto G (XT 1063) would be sporting a 5″ IPS display, with 1280 x 720 screen resolution. Also the 5Mp back camera seems to be upgraded to 8 Mp and 1.3 Mp front camera upgraded to 2 Mp. Remaining all features are similar to the present Moto G with Quad core Qualcom snapdragon 400 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1 GB RAM. The android version would be kitkat 4.4.4 out of box. One more interesting change observed is the presence of Gyroscope which the present Moto G missed.
Here is the screen shot of information obtained from GFX benchmark website about Moto G-2 (XT 1063)
Frankly speaking I was dissapointed to see this, as I expected more additions to the upgraded version of Moto G. Positive improvements like NFC, increase in RAM, External storage option. This is all anyway is just a speculation from the information found on GFX website. Lets wait for Motorola’s official confirmation of this. If the information available on GFX is true, the new Moto G (XT 1063) will be available in market soon. Considering the present competition with MI3, we have to see how the new Moto G with the above specifications would run in the market.
There was a leaked photo showing how the next version Moto G would be. It shows a slightly bigger screen compared to present Moto G and curved corners. Comparing the present information and the leaked picture, the news seems to be believable. Lets wait for more information though.
Are the new upgrades enough or you are expecting some of the features missing in the present Moto G to be included in the new version. Please share your views in the comment section about the alleged new version of Moto G. Stay tuned for more techie news.
